Morgenstern wins at Lillehammer
Thomas Morgenstern won at Lillehammer and took the overall lead in Nordic Tournament
The Austrian skijumper set the standard with a 138 meters monster jump already in the first round. None of the other athletes were able to answer and he went into the second round with a six point lead over Janne Happonen.
After Happonen failed in his second jump, Morgensterns victory was never in doubt. 132 meters was more than enough to secured first place.
After just an ok jump and a seventh place in the first round, the norwegian Bjørn Einar Romøren was carried on down by an enthusiastic home crowd. His 135 meters long jump was the best in the second half, and it made him climb all the way up to second place. Andeas Koffler was down on tenth place, but also he managed a spectacular comeback, ending on third place.
Roar Ljøkelsøy came forth, while slovenian Jernej Damjan suprised with a fifth place.
The last competition of Nordic Tournament is on sunday at Holmenkollen in Oslo. |
